Founder and Co-Owner of
Ernie’s Pop Shop
The dream for Ernie’s Pop Shop began in 2021. After spending two years doing our homework and getting all of our ducks perfectly in a row, we finally incorporated Ernie’s Pop Shop in March of 2023… but we sat on our hands. The idea of starting our business – making it real – seemed so scary.
Then Cafecito Tempranito con Tayrin happened in June of 2023, and completely changed my life; such a welcoming space. I walked into a room full of powerful, confident, inspiring Latinas. It was beautiful.
Mayra Luz Colon of Healthy Rican was the speaker during this Cafecito and her tenacity, conviction, and words of encouragement made me feel like I could do it too.
By the second Cafecito, a friend from the group, Diana, pushed me to start making strides in the business and asked us to cater her wedding vow renewal. So we did!
We then received a message from another friend in our Latinas Evolving group. Sandra was having the grand opening of Beauty Blends Tattoo and Spa and asked us to be vendors. September 15, 2023 we had our first event. But my husband and I realized, now that we had started, we had to keep going. Over a year later and we haven’t stopped.
